We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join an Australian Big4 Bank within the Business Banking division. As a Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering robust, scalable, and secure solutions within a modern tech stack. You'll lead a team of engineers, driving excellence in microservices, cloud-native architecture, and user-facing applications, ensuring high performance, maintainability, and alignment with business objectives. --> Sydney based --> Hybrid - 50% in CBD office --> AU Citizen or AU PR candidates only Key Responsibilities... Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. Guide the team in best practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD processes. Architect and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack solutions using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, and JavaScript. Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices leveraging AWS services. Ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components, focusing on user experience and performance. Build and maintain cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services like Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB. Implement DevOps pipelines for CI/CD, ensuring automated testing, build, and deployment processes. Define and enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, and documentation practices. Conduct code reviews and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure quality and efficiency. Work closely with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals. Translate business problems into scalable technical solutions. Your skills and experience... Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. Expertise in React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end development frameworks. Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, S3). Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). Proven experience in leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and driving high-quality deliverables. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively in an Agile environment. Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker), and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes). Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana. Problem-Solving Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications... AWS Certified Developer or Architect. Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven design. Knowledge of security best practices for both front-end and back-end systems.
