We are seeking a Systems Architect to play a pivotal role in a high-profile state government program. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on critical operational technology systems that directly influence customer experience and service delivery across NSW. As the Engineering Authority for system architecture, you will: Define and evolve the system architecture to achieve program and business objectives. Lead concept generation, tradespace exploration, and selection of future-ready solutions. Provide technical leadership across program teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies and roadmaps. Engage stakeholders at all levels, communicating complex system designs clearly to drive collaboration and buy-in. What makes this role exciting? This is more than just architecture – it’s about designing solutions that will have a tangible impact on how people interact with and rely on essential public services. You’ll operate with significant autonomy, lead multidisciplinary teams, and influence decisions that affect cost, quality, and scope across a major program of work. About you We’re looking for someone with: Proven success as a Systems Architect in complex technology and/or cyber security projects. Strong background in engineering environments, with the ability to lead architecture development across system-of-systems. Demonstrated experience in managing architecture trade-offs, interfaces, and evaluation against business and program needs. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to communicate effectively with technical teams, executives, and partners. A passion for driving innovation, solving complex challenges, and delivering outcomes that make a real difference. The challenge: balancing the complexity of multi-stakeholder initiatives while ensuring robust, safe, and future-proof system architectures. This is a rare opportunity to be involved with the architecture for a critical public program, working within a collaborative team that is shaping the future of services across NSW.
