Location: Remote in Australia (work remotely or drop into our Sydney office whenever you like)  Type: Full-Time  Salary: Total package: $202,800 p.a. Our customers love what we do—and so do the residents they serve, with a 4.8/5 average user rating.     The Role     We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering practice and work hands-on with the team to build scalable, high-impact solutions. Reporting to the CTO and working closely with product and design, you’ll turn real-world customer problems into elegant, secure, and reliable technology.    You’ll love this role if you:    • Are currently a senior engineer, principal engineer, or similar looking for a great new opportunity  • Enjoy technical & product thinking and solving real-world problems  • Like owning a problem space and mentoring others  • Want to help scale a fast-growing startup doing meaningful work     Key Responsibilities  • Lead implementation and delivery on key product and technology initiatives  • Be hands-on in the codebase while mentoring and unblocking other engineers  • Work closely with engineering leadership to shape and prioritise the roadmap  • Contribute to architectural decisions and system design  • Ensure quality, security, and performance standards are upheld  • Support sprint planning, backlog grooming, and team rituals  • Champion engineering best practices across the team  • Collaborate with enterprise customers and partners when needed     What We’re Looking For  • 4+ years in senior engineering roles  • A strong background in software development (hands-on)  • Proficiency with AWS and modern cloud infrastructure, with hands-on experience working with serverless architecture  • Solid experience with TypeScript, both front-end (with React) and back-end with Node.js  • Experience mentoring engineers and building a culture of collaboration across a high-performing team  • Strong understanding of software architecture and system design  • Experience in start-up/scale-up environments     Bonus Points For  • Experience in payments or financial services  • Working knowledge of PostgreSQL  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK, etc.)  • Experience with APIs, payment gateways, and third-party integrations  • Exposure to PCI, ISO27001 and SOC2 certifications and compliance   • Comfortable working with large enterprise partners or customers     We provide:  A phone and internet allowance ($1,200 p.a.)  A collaborative and optimistic work environment  A clear sense of purpose—we’re helping real people in local communities, and that matters to us     Things You’ll Like About Working Here     High trust, low ego - you’ll have the autonomy to do your best work, backed by a team that trusts each other and leaves egos at the door.
