Network Security Engineer &ndash; Fortinet SME (OT / Industrial Environments)<br> Location: Sydney (Mascot)<br> Hybrid: 3 days onsite<br> Contract: Initial 6 month contract with view to permanent<br> Rate: Attractive day rate<br> <br><strong>About the role</strong><br><br> We are seeking a senior Network Security Engineer with strong Fortinet and OT (Operational Technology) experience to join a high-performing professional services team. You will design and deliver customer-facing network and security solutions for a major enterprise client, with a strong focus on OT and industrial environments.<br><br> This role is suited to a senior engineer who is confident in a consulting environment, enjoys working directly with clients, and can translate business requirements into secure, practical network solutions.<br> <br><strong>Key responsibilities</strong><br> <ul> <li>Deliver customer-facing network and security solutions across enterprise and OT environments</li> <li>Act as a Fortinet subject matter expert across firewalls and security platforms, including policy, configuration, optimisation and upgrades</li> <li>Engage directly with clients to understand business needs and translate them into technical designs and implementation plans</li> <li>Support and enhance network and security services within OT environments such as industrial sites, critical infrastructure, manufacturing and utilities</li> <li>Lead and contribute to project delivery including migrations, upgrades, hardening and network segmentation</li> <li>Collaborate with senior engineers, architects and business stakeholders to define and embed best practice for Fortinet and OT security</li> <li>Produce clear documentation, design artefacts, runbooks and standards for both OT and IT network environments</li> </ul> <strong>About you</strong><br> <ul> <li>Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls and security solutions such as FortiGate (FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer experience highly regarded)</li> <li>Proven experience in a consultancy or professional services environment in a client-facing role</li> <li>Comfortable presenting to and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> <li>Experience designing, supporting or securing OT and industrial networks (for example SCADA, PLC, ICS environments)</li> <li>Solid understanding of core routing and switching concepts, with Cisco experience highly regarded</li> <li>Background working in enterprise or critical infrastructure environments</li> <li>Strong understanding of network security principles including segmentation, remote access, VPNs, IDS/IPS and hardening</li> <li>Motivated to stay current with Fortinet and OT security best practices and pursue certifications such as Fortinet NSE and Cisco or security-focused certifications</li> </ul> <strong>About the company</strong><br><br> You will be joining a consultancy of around 130 people delivering major network and security projects and professional services engagements for blue-chip clients.
