<strong>Network Engineer (Network &amp; Security)</strong> <br><br><strong>Overview</strong><br> An opportunity for a Network Engineer to support the delivery and ongoing operation of enterprise network and security environments across data centre and cloud platforms. This role is hands-on, focused on project implementation, operational support, and continuous improvement of network infrastructure.<br> <br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br> <ul> <li>Support delivery of network and security solutions across core, edge, and perimeter environments</li> <li>Assist with data centre migrations, network upgrades, and cloud integration projects</li> <li>Configure and maintain routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VXLAN)</li> <li>Deploy and support firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper)</li> <li>Implement and maintain secure connectivity (IPSec VPN, SD-WAN, cloud interconnects)</li> <li>Monitor and support security controls, including IPS, SIEM, and threat detection tools</li> <li>Support load balancing and application delivery platforms (F5, Netscaler)</li> <li>Assist with infrastructure automation and configuration management</li> <li>Provide BAU support, incident resolution, and participate in change management processes</li> <li>Work with internal teams and stakeholders to support project delivery and operations</li> <li>Maintain compliance with security and governance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8)</li> </ul> <strong>Skills &amp; Experience</strong><br> <ul> <li>5-8 years' experience in network engineering and/or security</li> <li>Strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, and network operations</li> <li>Experience supporting firewall and security platforms</li> <li>Exposure to cloud networking (AWS and/or Azure)</li> <li>Familiarity with monitoring and security tools (e.g. Splunk, Tufin)</li> <li>Basic experience or exposure to automation tools (e.g. Terraform)</li> <li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Good communication and stakeholder engagement abilities</li> </ul> <strong>Qualifications</strong><br> <ul> <li>Degree in IT or related discipline (or equivalent experience)</li> <li>Relevant certifications (CCNA/CCNP, Security+ or equivalent)</li> </ul> <strong>Desirable</strong><br> <ul> <li>Experience in enterprise, financial services, or telco environments</li> <li>Exposure to ITIL processes and security frameworks</li> </ul> Password is <strong>Layer8</strong>
