Job Description – Java Backend Engineer | Digital Banking | Financial Institution Contract: 6 Months (View to Extend) Day Rate: $800–$900 + GST / Day A leading financial institution with a strong digital banking presence is looking for a Java Backend Engineer to join its agile delivery team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems that support millions of users. You'll work across critical initiatives, including API integrations, transaction processing, and platform enhancements, with a focus on clean, maintainable code and robust service design. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot Design and build RESTful APIs to support key banking features Enhance and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment Work closely with DevOps and QA to support CI/CD pipelines Ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with financial standards Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end solutions Key Skills & Experience: 5+ years of Java development experience (Java 11+) Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST API development Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture Familiar with Git, Jenkins, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) preferred Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a plus Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Initial 6-month contract with ongoing extension opportunities.
