<ul> <li>Location - Canberra, ACT</li> <li>Australian Citizens with NV1 Clearance</li> <li>Length of Contract: 17 months</li> <li>The role closes on 18th March 2026</li> </ul> <strong>About the Role</strong><br> <br>The Specialist provides authoritative cyber security advice to Product Managers, System Managers, and other stakeholders. The role undertakes complex tasks associated with the development of assurance artefacts, including:<br> <ul> <li>Security Risk Management Plans</li> <li>System Security Plans</li> <li>System Security Overviews</li> <li>Incident Response Plans</li> <li>Additional documentation as required by the System Manager or Cyber Security Assessor and in accordance with the CSAA Framework.</li> </ul> <strong>Working collaboratively, the Specialist will:</strong><br> <ul> <li>Deliver dedicated information security advisory services to assigned ICT programs and projects, ensuring compliance with Defence security obligations.</li> <li>Develop, update, and maintain security assurance documentation to support system assessment and authorisation activities.</li> <li>Facilitate clear, effective communication across ICT program teams, security stakeholders, engineering groups, and broader project teams.</li> <li>Contribute positively within a small, high-performing team, supporting shared objectives and project outcomes.</li> <li>Provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to uplift team capability and ensure consistent application of security practices.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with Defence policies, governance frameworks, and security standards.</li> </ul> <strong>Roles, Responsibilities, Skills</strong><br> <ul> <li>Proven expertise in security assurance activities aligned with Australian Government security policies and recognised information security frameworks.</li> <li>Demonstrated capability in producing high‑quality system security documentation supporting assessment and authorisation processes.</li> <li>Strong self‑motivation with the ability to operate independently and deliver outcomes with limited supervision.</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.</li> <li>Formal qualifications in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience relevant to cyber security.</li> <li>Strong understanding of contemporary ICT security challenges affecting government and Defence environments.</li> <li>Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, including the ability to interpret complex security requirements.</li> <li>Commitment to achieving stakeholder goals and contributing to successful project outcomes.</li> <li>Experience delivering cyber security advisory services at the solution engineering level across multiple projects or programs.</li> <li>Ability to develop innovative and compliant solutions to address complex business and security issues.</li> <li>Experience conducting threat modelling to identify vulnerabilities and inform security design.</li> <li>Background working within enterprise technology delivery teams, ensuring integration of security requirements across system lifecycles.</li> <li>Current NV1 security clearance (minimum).</li> </ul> <strong>Additional Criteria:</strong><br> <ul> <li>DSS - 2.6 Systems and Software Engineering - System Security - L3</li> <li>SFIA Skill Code - Systems and software lifecycle engineering SLEN - L4</li> </ul> <strong>Please contact [email protected] or simply click apply to submit your application </strong><br> <br><strong>"We warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including First Nations Australians, Australian Defence Force and First Responder veterans, women in STEM, and people of all abilities, including those registered with the NDIS."</strong><br> <br><em>ARIS ZINC GROUP offers an end-to-end service approach with unique combination of expertise in recruiting, IT consulting and payroll services in the Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane markets.
