6 month fixed term contract Sydney CBD Based (Hybrid) Immediate Start This 6-month fixed-term Business Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to join a global insurer at a key delivery stage of a major initiative within their Rater Delivery Stream. With the core requirements already gathered and the project well underway, your role will be to support the delivery and testing phase, helping to ensure the solution is implemented smoothly and aligns with business expectations. You’ll be working alongside a highly experienced Lead BA, who will be there for any guidance and direction. While she handles the heavier strategic lifting, you’ll be focused on the hands-on execution, playing a critical role by working closely with developers, reviewing processes end-to-end, identifying any gaps or missing requirements, and ensuring a quality outcome. This is a role where autonomy, initiative, and functional understanding matter. It’s not about going back to the business to rework scope, it’s about identifying what’s missing during testing or implementation and driving it through to resolution collaboratively with the dev team. What you’ll be doing: Supporting the implementation of a major solution within the Rater platform Partnering with developers during the testing phase to ensure business rules are applied correctly Identifying gaps, clarifying ambiguous requirements, and mapping end-to-end processes Writing and executing SQL queries to support testing, validate data, and confirm accuracy of output Capturing any missed business logic or edge cases not accounted for in the initial scope Working independently on small enhancements or fixes, while escalating complex issues to the Lead BA Documenting test scenarios, outcomes, and updating Confluence and JIRA as needed What we're looking for: A functionally strong Business Analyst who enjoys being close to the delivery Someone comfortable working with defined business rules, backend systems, and structured logic Comfortable writing SQL queries to support testing and analysis A confident communicator who can work independently, but knows when to escalate or collaborate A BA who works well in developer-led environments, heads-down, focused, and not overly reliant on stakeholder workshops Someone who takes initiative when something’s missing and thrives on filling in the gaps during testing Details: Full-time 6-month fixed-term contract with all employee benefits (paid leave, public holidays, etc.) Join a tight-knit, delivery-focused team with a very clear structure and defined roles Mentorship and support from a highly capable Lead BA who will guide the direction while you focus on execution Opportunity to deepen your experience in insurance systems, business rules, and delivery best practices Sydney CBD location with hybrid working (3 days in-office, 2 from home) To submit your profile for consideration or for further information on this role, please click APPLY or email [email protected] Please note: Candidates must be Australian Permanent Residents or hold Australian Citizens to apply for this opportunity.
