<ul> <li>Location - ACT</li> <li>Australian Citizens with Baseline Security Clearance</li> <li>Length of Contract: 12 months | Number of extensions: 2</li> <li>The role closes on 24th April 2026</li> </ul> <strong>Key duties and responsibilities</strong><br> Software Engineers will be required to: <br> <ul> <li>Build and maintain secure .NET (8/10) backend services and REST APIs (versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2/OIDC). </li> <li>Deliver React frontends that consume APIs and meet accessibility needs. </li> <li>Integrate internal and third-party systems (messaging/event-driven, identity, CRM) end-to-end. </li> <li>Apply secure coding/SDLC controls (e.g., scanning) and manage secrets (e.g., Key Vault). </li> <li>Write automated tests (unit/integration/UI) and enforce quality gates in CI/CD. </li> <li>Peer review code in DevOps. </li> <li>Implement to agreed architecture/standards (API, security, performance, observability—App Insights). </li> <li>Produce technical documentation, release notes and operational runbooks (incl. handover). </li> <li>Communicate progress, risks, dependencies and options to technical and non-technical stakeholders. </li> <li>Collaborate with product, UX, security and operations in an agile delivery model. </li> <li>Mentor and support team members; promote cross-skilling. </li> <li>Promote a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement. </li> <li>Other duties as required. </li> </ul> <strong>Essential criteria</strong><br> <ul> <li>Tertiary qualifications in software engineering (or equivalent experience) and experience with cloud-native patterns: Event-driven integration, and data platforms (SQL Server/Azure SQL, Blob Storage, caching) including high-volume processing.</li> <li>Technical skills: Minimum 10 years designing, building and supporting secure web solutions across backend and frontend, including modern .NET (8/10) & ASP.NET Web APIs; REST API design (versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth2/OIDC); React and automated testing (unit/integration/UI) (e.g., xUnit/nUnit, Playwright/Selenium).</li> <li>Cloud and DevOps: Hands-on Azure delivery/operations across App Services/Functions, Azure SQL, Service Bus/Event Grid, API Management; CI/CD (Azure DevOps); monitoring (e.g., App Insights); third-party integration (e.g., Dynamics 365); and security controls (e.g., Key Vault) and legacy modernisation.</li> <li>API-led delivery experience, including governance, OpenAPI/Swagger, performance and API security patterns.</li> <li>Ways of working and security mindset: Familiar with ISM controls and applying them in build/design; effective across dispersed teams; able to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders; and mentor/collaborate to support team outcomes.</li> </ul> <strong>Desirable criteria</strong><br> <ul> <li>Test automation and quality engineering in CI/CD (unit/integration/UI; e.g., Playwright/Selenium, Jest, static analysis).</li> <li>Delivery approach: Experience delivering in multi-disciplinary Agile teams; able to adapt scope and approach as requirements and constraints evolve.</li> </ul> <strong>For each candidate, please reply to us with your:</strong><br> <ul> <li>start date</li> <li>hourly rate</li> <li>service management fee</li> <li>citizenship status</li> <li>security clearance</li> <li>one page pitch to address all criteria specified (this is equal to 5000 characters in BuyICT)</li> <li>resumés</li> <li>response to additional requirements</li> </ul> <strong>Additional Criteria:</strong><br> <ul> <li>DSS - 2.3 Systems and Software Engineering - Software Engineering - L3</li> <li>SFIA Skill Code - Programming / Software Development (PROG) - L4</li> </ul> <strong>Please contact [email protected] or simply click apply to submit your application </strong><br> <br><strong>"We warmly welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including First Nations Australians, Australian Defence Force and First Responder veterans, women in STEM, and people of all abilities, including those registered with the NDIS."</strong><br> <br><em>ARIS ZINC GROUP offers an end-to-end service approach with unique combination of expertise in recruiting, IT consulting and payroll services in the Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane markets.
